Concept

Bike computers are either notoriously dum or needlessly expensive. Bikebutler is a smart device mounted directly on your handlebar that utilizes the power of your smartphone to provide the biker with unprecedented access to navigation, tracking and music control at a low cost. In cooperation with the municipality of Copenhagen we worked on the feature of “Green Wave” in which Bikebutler would be able to predict just the right speed to catch green light throughout the city of Copenhagen.

My role

I co-founded the project along with my partner Johan Bender and had the role of managing the development of our prototype. I also did concept development and renderings by hand of Bikebutler. We initiated course collaborations with the departments of software and electronics at DTU, and latter recruited four engineering students to join our team.  Along the way we was rewarded a grant from Fonden for Entreprenørskab to reach our goal. Lack of market response and slow progress made the project come to a halt in the summer of 2015.
