Concept

As weather fluctuations are becoming more extreme, many developing countries are facing water shortage. As an effect, crops are failing and hunger can follow. In cooperation with the NGO Danish Church Aid, I and two fellow students are developing a humidity sensor network that will allow farmers to irrigate smarter. The first prototype was developed in the spring of 2017 and has been deployed at 3 locations as a part of the pilot test in Zimbabwe in June 2017. The company recieved funding from Tranes Fond to realize the first pilot test.

My Role

Writing the embedded software that will run on the sensors as well as the base station and backend server as well as selecting and designing the hardware components.
